After a cool and wet June, the 4th of July is perfect for swimming and jumping off the dock, boating and picking wild strawberries.

Each day brings warm greetings as lake residents and guests return to enjoy multi-generational vacations.  Especially heart warming are the children who have grown so much in one short year; they burst through the lodge door with huge smiles, sparkling eyes and joyful anticipation. 

Two of our younger guests surprised me this week; one, a sweet girl of about 10, revealed to me during our dinner visit that she is living in Morocco. Another, slightly older girl, stopped in for a vanilla steamer; she is visiting from Norway. I never cease to be amazed that guests from all corners of the world find themselves entering the doors of The Lodge for vacation time.
