Can you feel the wind and cold?

May 14, 2009

Wow, what a roller coaster ride of weather we have had this week. Fishing opener last Saturday was a windy, blowy, snowflake falling day. Mother's Day turned warm and gorgeous and we all spent the entire day working on projects enjoying the glorious sun and warmth. Bad image name (None)

Monday was a travel day for supplies to Duluth which happily included a stop at Edelweiss (my favorite Duluth nursery). Tuesday the weather was cold and rainy, a real soaker. Wednesday was blustery and cool to start with and the afternoon ended up with temperatures nearing 70 degrees. The forecast for snow on Thursday we thought had to be wrong...but wasn't; the snowflakes flew again. Today (Friday) is sunny and cold with forecast lows for the teens for Saturday. Concern is for freezing waterlines and frozen tender spring growth.

Spring is cold up north, but it is definitely getting warmer and the wildlife is becoming more active....less than one week until the summer season officially opens.
